EBL have been involved in a wide variety of buildings, ranging from individual dwellings to large government buildings. We have the capabilities of a Design-and-Build facility, and have refurbished many different types of building structures, including the restoration of 200 year old Churches, Schools and modern commercial buildings.
We have acted as Principal Contractor on a number of projects, overseeing all aspects of the contract, including current Health & Safety, CDM regulations, planning and building regulations, and preservation constraints, providing professional help with specifications and recommendations.
Recent projects to restore Grade Two listed buildings have earned the company national and regional recognition. For the imaginative conversion of an 18th century barn complex in Sutton Weaver into eight luxury houses, EBL won the coveted "Builder of the Year" award from Vale Royal Council. Project director for EBL, Bob Wilson, was also "Highly Commended" in the Construction Manager of the Year Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Builders.
Similar projects undertaken by EBL include the restoration of one of Halton's oldest buildings - a 17th century timber-framed cottage in Main Street, Halton Village - and the total restoration and refurbishment of the historic Christleton Hall near Chester, built in 1603, by a member of the Egertons, the Cheshire aristocrats who had their main family seat at Tatton Park. We have the specialist skills needed, together with the act of balancing stringent controls and regulations laid down by English Heritage for a Listed Building, and the equally gruelling - and often conflicting - fire, sound and safety regulations.
