Those infected by asbestos are mainly builders, plumbers and shipyard workers, but teachers, children and nurses are believed to have been put at risk since asbestos was used in the construction of several schools and hospitals.

New regulations enforced by the HSE have stipulated that all buildings need a relevant and active survey to assess an asbestos content.

Legislation is regularly changing within the industry, with many new methods and techniques being developed to minimise the risk of exposure to removal contractors, building contractors, surveyors and building occupants.

This is where EBL Group can help! We will provide three types of surveys for you, the customer.

Walk through survey

A rapid, visual assessment of a building by an experienced surveyor to identify suspected asbestos installations present on site. Samples are usually not taken at this stage but a summary report is produced detailing locations of suspected asbestos and recommendations.

Type 1: £350

Standard survey

A visual assessment of the building by an experienced surveyor to identify suspected asbestos installations present on site. Samples are taken from installations and analysed at an accredited laboratory, which allows confirmation of whether the sampled material definitely contains asbestos or is asbestos free.

Type 2: £475 plus up to 6 free sample taken

Detailed survey

A thorough survey of a building by an experienced surveyor, with a collection of samples for analysis. This will include breaking through partition walls, ceilings etc. to confirm the presence of asbestos. Normally this is carried out prior to the demolition or refurbishment works, where significant damage to the building will not be a problem.

Type 3: £625 (two surveyors) plus up to 6 free samples taken

Extra samples on survey types 1,2 and 3 - £25 per sample

Four hours is normally sufficient for the surveyor to carry out a survey; over four hours will be charged at an hourly rate.

Survey types 1&2 £35 per hour Survey type 3 £50 per hour

The survey prices above are those based within a 25mile radius of our office, anything over this distance is an extra £1 per mile.
